271. Die Technik der Hiiftgelenktransplantation nach Thomas G. T h o m a s Bonn T h o m a s Technique o f H i p - J o i n t T r a n s p l a n t a t i o n Eummary. Jaros and Stryhal were the first to transplant femur heads according to the suggestion of Krompecher and Pap. The excellent results obtained by Jaros, Wagner and Matzen (150 cases of partial hip-joint transplantation) encouraged the author to develop a completely new technique for the transplantation of both the femur head and the acetabulum. The instruments were specially designed to allow accurate preparation of the transplant so that no empty space would be left between the transplant and the host tissue. Key word,s: Hip-joint Transplantation, New Technique. Zusammen/a~rung. Jaros u. ~%hl~tssdw~rter: Hiiftgelenktransplantation, neue T~hnilr.

The emergency service has dealt with 1461 calls in 2 years. The doctor on duty (at the Protestant hospital in Bad Godesberg) and the ambulance (from the Fire Department) meet at the scene of the accident ("rendez-vous" system) after simultaneous alerts. The doctor iS the resident in surgery or anesthesia, and is also responsible for duties in the hospital. The average time from alert to departure is 70 sec, the average driving time 3 rain 45 sec. Surgical and medical cases are equal in frequency. False alarms account for 25 o/0 of all calls. Car accidents involving young drivers occur most often in the city center during the rush hour. Most of the surgical emergencies involve shock and head injuries (62.2O/o) or multiple injuries (31.40/o). The majority of medical cases are accounted for by myocardial infarction, drug overdose, and alcohol intoxication. The treatments administered in surgical emergencies include infusions, intubation, and correct positioning of patients, while supervision during transport and careful transportation to hospital are the measures most frequently adopted in the medical cases. This system is advantageous when a large area has to be covered, and helps to prevent suffering, invalidism, and death. Key words: Emergency, Call System.
