Join the Research and Development staff at the Palo Alto CA Advanced Technology Center of Lockheed Martin. The Technology Center conducts research and advanced development in support of the Missiles and Space Sector located in nearby Sunnyvale, CA. An opening currently exists in the Materials Technologies Dept. for a specialist in Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). Historically, applications of TEM at Lockheed Martin involve phase identification in structural metals and ceramics, examination of grain boundary structure in ceramics, and basic research involving structural materials. In addition to TEM studies, the opening entails support to technology development programs in areas of rocket and spacecraft propulsion, re-entry thermal protection materials, and structural ceramics. This opportunity requires strong skills in the areas of materials processing and mechanical behavior of materials. Salary Range $74,480 to $92,161. The Program Manager provides the Directorate of Aerospace and Materials Science with an experienced doctoral level scientist for managing a program of research in metals processing, structure, and properties (including the interrelationship of these optics). To be qualified for this position, the encumbent must possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering in an accredited college or university.
