Aerospace Engineering Test Establishment Located at Canadian Forces Base Cold Lake, Medley, Alberta, the Aerospace Engineering Test Establishment [AETE) is the designated Flight Test Agency for the Canadian Forces. The AETE staff of 350 mditary and civilian members is engaged in test activities related to the acceptance of new or recently modified aircraft and simulators, the conduct of flight-load and vibration surveys, the development and assessment of new aircraft systems, and the expansion of aircraft flight envelopes. The AETE Aircraft Structures and Mechanics (ASM) section designs and structurally clears for flight test airframe modifications and instrumentation installations intended for the measurement of loads, stresses and vibrations, and directs structural-test projects including flutter flight testing.
Associacao Portuguesa de Analise Experimental de Tensoes Associacao Portuguesa de h a l i s e Experimental de Tensoes is a Portuguese nonprofit-making cultural and scientific association for persons interested in scientific and technical cooperation in structural mechanics, particularly experimental Stress analysis. The first group of its kind in Portugal, APAET holds monthly meetings and has organized an experimental-stress-analysis group. that serves as a prime source of information on the nation‘s railroads system. AAR conducts research, publishes extensively and holds meetings on the subject. Battelle Memorial Institute Battelle Memorial Institute, a contract research and development organization, works toward the advancement of science through technological innovation and educational activities. Major research areas include engineering mechanics, manufacturing technology, advanced materials, information systems, electronics, national security, biology, and chemistry. Battelle’s research activities range from modest, short-term problem-solving investigations to longterm, multidisciplinary, multimilliondollar programs. The Catholic University of America Located in Washmgton, D.C., C.U.A. is sponsored by the Roman Catholic bishops of the United States as a national university and center of instruction and research. tion, the Cement and Concrete Association offers cement and concrete users technical information and advice based on the work of its own research station combined with wide practical experience and information gained on a worldwide basis. Headquartered at the Wexham Springs estate in the South Buckinghamshire countryside, the Association also runs the Fulmer Grange Training Centre and publishes books, reports, proceedings and periodicals.
Lehigh University
Brown University is a private institution in Providence, RI with about 5400 undergraduates and 1200 graduate students. The engineering course programs include biomedical, chemical, civil, electrical, materials and mechanical engineering, as well as engineering mechanics. Theoretical and experimental research projects in solid and structure mechanics are conducted. The engineering programs are supported by strong offerings in related science departments includmg applied mathematics, computer science, physics, chemistry and geology.

Sandia National Laboratories Sandia National Laboratories serves as a prime contractor to the U.S. government's Department of Energy on a no-profit, no-fee basis. As a systems engineermg laboratory responsible for the nonnuclear portions of nuclear-weapons systems, Sandia is primarily concerned with national security-developing and maintaining the scientific and engineering expertise that will assure the viability of the U.S. nuclear ordnance. Sandia also has a large-scale pulsed-power program and is engaged in solar energy, combustion and geo energy research. Headquartered in Albuquerque, NM, Sandia employs about 8,400 people. Sandia is a wholly owned subsidiary of AT&T Technologies, Inc.
University of Arkansas The University of Arkansas, a landgrant institution under the control of Arkansas's Department of Higher Education, consists of five campuses with a total enrollment of 24,900. The University's College of Engineering has six fully accredited engineering departments and is located on the main campus in Fayetteville. The College offers courses leading to BS degrees in agriculture, chemical, civil, electrical, industrial and mechanical engineering. It also offers both MS and PhD degrees. The College of Engineering's Engineering Experiment Station is currently conducting over 50 research programs.

University of Thessaloniki, Polytechnical School The University of Thessaloniki, Polytechnical School first joined SEM as a corporate member in 1967. The school is located in Thessalonilu, Greece.
University of Washington The University of Washington is a state university located on a 680acre campus on the shores of Lake Washington in Seattle. The College of Engineering has been a major unit of the University since 1899 and presently enrolls about 3500 students.
