Erratum to: Policy Sci DOI 10.1007/s11077-011-9129-3 The above mentioned article was published online before the untimely and tragic death of Dr. John H. ‘‘Jack’’ Marburger and was intended to be part of the special issue on ‘‘Reconciling the Supply of and Demand for research in the Science of science and Innovation Policy’’. After Dr. Marburger’s death, changes were made to this article and the revised article appeared in Vol 44, Issue 3. Because of the publishing queue, we also need to publish the above mentioned original article submitted by Dr. Marburger prior to his death.
