INTERNATIONAL
SYtVIPOSIUM ON PERCOLATION
The IAHR National Committee of the Soviet Union with the consent of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR and on the suggestion of the Technical Committee for Porous Media of the IAHR plans to hold the next, III International Symposium on Percolation in September-October, 1976 in Kiev. The topic will be "Percolation of Water in Undeformable and Deformable Porous and Fractured Media" with the following program, proposed by the Technical Committee for Percolation of the IAHR National Committee of the Soviet Union. 1. Linear (according to Darcy's law) and nonlinear percolation in media with a complex structure (for example, with double porosity, macro- and microfractured). Methods of determining the percolation parameters of these media. 2. Effect of the stress-strain state of the porous medium on percolation. Percolation deformations (uplift, piping, creep). 3. Percolation in the foundation and body of high dams. 4. Interaction of surface and subsurface waters. The organizational committee of the III International Symposium on Percolation is being headed by chairman of the Technical Committee for Percolation of the IAHR National Committee of the Soviet Union, Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR. Doctor of Technical Sciences, A. Ya. Oleinik. Specialists desiring to present a report at the Symposium should submit (with a coveting letter from the organization) to the organizational committee before December 1, 1975 an application with an indication of the title of the report and a summary so that the editorial board of the organizational committee can makes its selection.
