DM programmes for high-risk pregnancy, breast cancer, and diabetes mellitus are very effective in attracting and retaining enrollees, indicate the results [see figure]. In contrast, DM programmes for arthritis, allergic rhinitis, peptic ulcer disease and OSteOporoSIS are not thought to be effective in marketing for enrollees. The survey also found that doubts exist about the cost effectiveness of many DM programmes in progress.
