Safety data to be published on UK MHRA website The UK Department of Health has announced that anonymous data on suspected adverse drug reactions will be published on the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) website. The accessibility of data will allow patients to view information and make decisions on the safety of medicines. Researchers will be able to request more detailed data, and an independent committee will review each request to determine whether it is "ethically and scientifically sound" and that it ensures patient confidentiality. Sir Alasdair Breckenridge, Chairman of the MHRA, comments that the Yellow Card Scheme is an important tool used by the MHRA to monitor drug safety, and that "it is only right that others can also benefit from the data".
